Still Alive

Hey there, I'm still alive. To//Be is still alive.

Just learning some stuff with the camera and taking the time to really brainstorm what I want to do next.

It's tough deciding if I want to be in front of the camera more or behind. I love both. I'm better at being behind lol. Anyways...

Spent the afternoon in Boulder. It was nice and warm, no winds, but not very sunny which made for a PERFECT day too be outside.

I'm Not a Settling Type...

And it's rare when I'm absolutely satisfied and/or content about something. So...right now I am dreaming up a new BLOG.

Throughout the past year I've started to understand who I am, what I like, and develop some real great passions and hobbies. Believe it or not, having a blog that you don't really advertise and don't have many (or any) followers actually can help you really discover who you are. Well, it's worked for me who, honestly, seems to have been on PAUSE for about 3 years not knowing what I wanted and too scared to make any sort of change to my daily routine.

But, moving forward, something in me is calling for that NEW BEGINNING. It might be because I start my photography class tomorrow and I'm filled with inspiration, or that Spring just seems like a good time to press REFRESH.

Trust me though, I'm beginning to annoy myself with these blog changes, I know haha. I just haven't found my home yet! I have to feel it because I care about it that much!

When I developed this blog I just wanted To//Be someone but I didn't know who. Now that I've studied myself, I think I have a better idea of WHO I want To//Be and better yet, WHO//I//AM. <3

Please, if you're out there, stay tuned for what's next. I think I have some pretty cute and clever ideas up my sleeves ;) //

Make//Up

Hey there, I've been slacking on blogging, I know this.

I've returned with, well, whatever this is! Haha. I've been experimenting with some color eye shadows that I've had but never used and came up with this pallet of magenta, violet, and burnt orange. But, although I'm giving bright colors a chance, I love nothing more than heavy dark make-up. For my nightTIME look I have a pallet of black, dark bronze, cream, and blush pink. Nude lips contrast beautifully with dark eyes. Also, it's a way to not look too "gawdy". Don't get me wrong though, I love my red lips here and there too ;).


In Felicia Renee news, I've enrolled in a 4-week Digital Photography Course! I start April 12th and end May 10th! I'm very much excited to finally learn certain settings and techniques for my camera and for once and for all be absolutely comfortable shooting everything and anything...anywhere! Also, I've recovered my Jasc Photoshop Software and have already installed into my laptop! Not the best photoshop software but I've been so familiar with it that it is easy for me to navigate and be creative (hence my little photo today). Leo and I are working on...PLANNING our apartment renovations. Things are getting done. I'm very much excited for the future!

To//Be Inspired by...

Have been obsessing over this band AND this video so I decided to put together an inspired outfit pairing a lacy white corset over an oversized white button up and a delicate powder pink chiffon skirt from American Apparel. The bass guitar is my boyfriend's because MINE doesn't have a strap haha. Of course while shooting this I was in fact swinging my hair to the one and only WARPAINT. God, I love them //

With hair that flowed down to her knees

Although she's one you'd love to charm
It seems as though something has already won her heart.

With her head hung low but not a frown in site
Cecilia wore her headphones nice and tight.

You'd think she did it to hide away
But truth is she was as happy as can be.

La-la-la, and all the woos

The music is what stole her soul.

She wouldn't mind giving you the time of day

But her music; it constantly played.

And as long as the music played on and on

Cecilia would keep listening from dusk til' dawn.



*So that is not the end. I want to actually finish it as a complete story but I'm drawing a blank as of right now. What do you think so far? It's cute :)

Shed My Skin, and My Shell

I'm a mess. The air is so dry here in Colorado that I am seriously flaking away and it fucking sucks!


Anyways, I've been getting inspired by one who only started off as an innocent crush, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I've come across his project hitRECord.Org and I think the idea is not only genius, but incredibly motivational!
[hitRECord.ORG is a project developed by JGL and has been running for 5 years. How it works, briefly, is that it is a art community. Everyone is encouraged by JGL to record anything they want and by record that means posting a picture, a sound clip, a video and even text. After your records are featured on the site than other users can take your records and make remixes of them, either by adding to them or editing them in any way possible. Highly recommended records are than showcased at Sundance film festivals by JGL which everyone who contributed to the final cut get to be acknowledged and compensated. Pretty neat!]
It's truly refreshing and inspiring to see actors acting to ACT. Celebrity shmelebrity... doing things for fame is wack. And I do have to point out the difference of wanting to be famous and just wanting to be acknowledged.

Doing things for fame is selling your soul to the devil. Taking the short cuts instead of sucking it up and struggling a bit for what you enjoy and desire. Fame is having no shame- example would be "Jersey Shore". No explanation needed. The passion is lacking when you work for fame and for money. And if there is no passion, discipline, or evidence of hard work than what's the point of others giving you the time of day? What's there to learn and be inspired by you? Why keep up with you? Who cares really.

Wanting to be acknowledged means that you want your art form- say it be acting, singing, music, art, etc, to be appreciated, inspirational to others, and overall ENJOYABLE to not only yourself but the people who relate to it. Becoming successful and well known can translate into "Fame" but it will not be as paper-thin. There will be more depth to your story. It's with this that people look at you like an actual person, human-being as anyone else (and US Magazine's "They're Just Like US" columns are not what I'm talking about, at all haha).

What I'm saying is that seeing this project that JGL has developed really shows the everyday-person in this "celebrity"- RegularJoe as he prefers. Here is someone who has been in many successful motion pictures, short films, tv shows, and knows MANY people in the industry YET he wants to work with us. He's interested in what we've got and that there is enough to say, maybe he's right...maybe I'm holding something back that could be amazing and could catch the eyes of someone who can project it to others. It makes it more the obvious that nothing is impossible when you apply yourself and pursue pursue PURSUE. Simply "hit Record" and you just might create something BIG. It's pretty exciting to think about :)

So all in all, thank you RegularJoe for being real. You have really opened the eyes of many artists who, like hermit crabs, hid their talents and their artistic ventures out of fear and/or doubt. You've really made it easy for me to believe that it's not impossible.
Now I can say that I'm your fan for more reasons than just thinking you're a handsome fella. Can't wait to join hitRECord!! //

Handmade Hat!

My dear friend Ashley Smith did my hair today. It is so much healthier now! I had this idea of hiding orange highlights underneath my hair and it turned out beautifully!

I've been dressing so sloppy at work and I hate it!!

I blame it on my lack of money and lack of wardrobe but honestly, I would be happy finding 1 sleek blazer, 1 white tee, and some leather capris to wear EVERYDAY! I'll change up the accessories and hair, that's it. :)
